Camping (with timber houses) with a nice view, at the castle of Sirok

Sirok is situated on the eastern side of the Mátra Mountains, on the brink of the down towards Bükk Mountains. The visitor can have a rest and hike in a marvellous, easeful forestal environment.
VÁR-CAMPING is a familiar and comfortable camping with a nice view, directly at the foot of the castle of Sirok. In our timber houses (with 2-3-4-5-6 beds) there is accommodation for 45 persons (49 persons with spare beds). Besides, 3 fixed caravans can be rented as well, which means further 3x2 places (together 55 places).
For those arriving by car and with tent we grant current.
Hygiene: 2-2 showers, 3-3 basins and toilets are at disposal in the plumbing unit for men and women.
There is also possibility for cooking: at the side of the plumbing unit there is a half-opened, covered kitchen for the use of our guests. Equipments: stoves, sinks, microwave oven, fridge and washing machine. Cookers are available in limited number. We have also fireplaces to cook in kettle and to roast with spits. You can choose from kettles of different size.
50-60 persons may have lunch in our Terace-Restaurant at the same time. We have meals from breakfast to supper for every daytime. Opening hours: from 7 AM to 7 PM or later if required.
Our wine tavern can accommodate 20-25 guests; here you can taste and drink wines from the region. The wine tavern is open; our guests may stay here even after closing time.
Parking is free inside of the camping, for buses there is place in the private parking space next to the camping.
Programs: castle of Sirok, spa and bath in Bükkszék, bath in Demjén, castle and sight-seeing tour in Eger, labor camps in Recsk, ostrich farm, carriage museum in Parád, fen in Nyírjes, volcanic crater in Verpelét etc.
Other possibilities for active recreation: climbing, bike riding, visitation of historical and cultural memories, observation of biological and mineral curiosities, wine tasting.
